🔒 Identifying details have been withheld to protect the child's privacy and safety.

A recorded testimony was documented from a 15-year-old child from rural Daraa, who was forcibly recruited by the “Ministry of Defense” and the “General Security Apparatus” (“Ministry of Interior”) affiliated with the de facto extremist authority.

The child was deployed to participate in jihadist military operations against Suwayda, without any prior military training and was handed a weapon he had never used before.

He was given narcotic pills by members of the “General Security Apparatus,” indicating the use of drugged child soldiers in active combat zones.

He was promised a monthly salary of $150, in a clear and exploitative abuse of the child’s socio-economic vulnerability.

The group later abandoned him in a conflict area, where he was eventually captured by local self-defense forces in Suwayda.

In his testimony, the child affirmed he was treated humanely by the people of Suwayda and made a plea to other children not to fall victim to recruitment and exploitation.

This case constitutes a serious violation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (Article 38) and its Optional Protocols on the involvement of children in armed conflict.

We urgently call on international human rights organizations, child protection agencies, and legal bodies to:
▪️ Launch an independent international investigation,
▪️ Ensure accountability for those responsible,
▪️ And include this case in global child protection and war crimes reports.
