When they attacked us, my sister asked me for water… I brought it to her. She drank, and then she couldn’t breathe anymore… I hid in the closet!”
Hala tells the BBC reporter in a faint voice:
“They opened fire on us… I hid in the closet. My wounded sister asked me for water, so I gave it to her, but after drinking, she stopped breathing. My aunt called me, and I hid in the closet again. When I got to the hospital, I slept for two whole days. When I woke up, my aunt was next to me.”
The BBC correspondent adds:
“Hala still doesn’t know the painful truth… No one has told her yet that her entire family was killed.”
