Weaponizing Children Amid Religious Cleansing Against the Druze
A post on ‘Daraa Platform’ shows a child in military-style clothing, wearing a mask and a headband similar to those used by extremist groups, holding a weapon.
This constitutes a serious infringement of global child protection norms and represents the exploitation of a minor for ideological indoctrination. The imagery and language promote extremist and terrorist ideologies, glorifying jihadist violence. It also incites violence and radicalization by encouraging the idea of raising children as combatants and normalizing violence from an early age.
This post was shared amid a genocidal campaign of religious cleansing targeting the Syrian Druze community in Suwayda—a campaign carried out by the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Interior, under the leadership of Abu Mohammad Al-Jolani.
