As memebers of the “General Security” and “Ministry of Defense”, operating under the de facto authority and backed by loyalist tribal militias, began storming the city of Sweida and committing massacres against unarmed civilians, the number of injured and wounded at the Sweida National Hospital surged beyond the capacity of the medical staff.
In response to this humanitarian emergency, an urgent call was issued to all medical personnel for assistance.
Dr. Faten answered the call of duty, but while on her way to the hospital, she was shot in the head by a sniper.
This crime constitutes an extrajudicial execution, and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law
