🇺🇸 U.S. Citizen Executed in Syria
A graduate of Oklahoma Christian University (M.A., 2016), Saraya became a U.S. citizen nearly five years ago during his time in Oklahoma, where he built a life of service and education. He later founded an online school for Syrian students, dedicating himself to providing education and hope.
Saraya had traveled last year to Suwayda to care for his elderly father. He was preparing to return to Oklahoma within weeks.
On July 17, 2025, Saraya was abducted from his family home by elements of the Public Security Apparatus (Ministry of Interior), the Ministry of Defense under the de facto authorities led by “Abu Muhammad Al-Jolani” (Ahmad al-Shar’a), and allied tribal militias — and executed by firing squad in a public square, alongside six of his relatives. All were Druze civilians — targeted as part of the horrific religious cleansing currently taking place in southern Syria.
His American passport was found among his personal items.
