خلال تشييع شهداء كنيسة مار إلياس في كنيسة الصليب المقدس وجّه البطريرك يوحنا العاشر خطاباً جريئاً إلى الرئيس الانتقالي أحمد الشرع، حمّل فيه الحكومة المؤقتة مسؤولية المجزرة، مؤكداً أن ما جرى استهداف مباشر للمكوّن المسيحي في سوريا.
تلفزيون سوريا قمع الكلمة على الهواء:
كلما ذكر البطريرك اسم الرئيس أو انتقد الإدارة، قامت المذيعة بتشويش متعمّد وقطع الصوت.
كما تم منع كل وسائل الإعلام، حتى قناة نورسات، من البث المباشر، وأُجبر الجميع على استخدام نقل رسمي خاضع للرقابة، حيث قُطعت الكلمة مجددًا
During the funeral of St.Elias Church martyrs Patriarch John X Yazigi held Transitional President Ahmad al-Sharaa and the interim government responsible for the massacre, calling it a targeted attack on Syria’s Christian community. Syria TV cut his speech live:
Every time the Patriarch named the president or criticized the government, the audio was deliberately distorted.
All media, including Noursat, were banned from live coverage and forced to air a state-controlled feed where his remarks were censored again.
