شهدت مدينة طرطوس في ساعات الفجر الأولى إطلاق صواريخ باتجاه جزيرة النمل (جزيرة غير مأهولة)، تزامنًا مع تحليق رشاش ثقيل من طراز 23 فوق أحياء سكنية.
ويُعتقد أن هذه التحركات تأتي ضمن تدريبات عسكرية، لكن توقيتها وموقعها وسط مناطق سكنية مأهولة يثير مخاوف المدنيين، ويُفسَّر على أنه محاولة متعمدة لبث الذعر بين السكان.
