Mr. Hassan Yonan, a member of the Kurdish Red Crescent delegation, testified about the dire conditions in the villages visited on the Syrian coast:
• Al-Mukhtariya: Residents remain displaced and afraid to return, despite hearing of the delegation’s visit. The area is abandoned and unprotected, with 170 killed in a massacre.
• Qurfis, Al-Sinn, and Al-Rahba: 20% of the population remains in hiding. Homes have been destroyed, and 24 were buried hastily. Only a few villagers dared to participate in the burials.
• Harisoun Bridge Area: A sniper zone where movement is restricted.
• Baniyas-Jabla Road: Abandoned homes, no safe return.
• Civil Efforts: No aid has reached Al-Mukhtariya since the March 7 massacre.
• Ongoing Tragedy: 50 more have been killed since the large-scale killings stopped.
The situation remains worse than reported, with many truths untold.
