أقر عنصر من هيئة تحرير الشام، “أبو خطاب الشامي”، عبر حسابه على “إكس”، بأن المذابح المستمرة ضد العلويين تتم بناءً على فتوى لابن تيمية تبيح قتل العلويين (النصيرية)، نهب أموالهم وسباء نسائهم، مما اكد عن الطابع الطائفي الممنهج وراء هذه المذابح
