On January 21, 2025, a drone equipped with VOG-17 bombs targeted a gathering of civilians near the Tishrin Dam. The civilians were holding a sit-in to protest Turkish attacks that threaten the dam and the safety of the region. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of 4 civilians and injuries to 20 others, with varying degrees of severity.
In a heartbreaking reflection of the tragedy, one of the injured victims sent a message to international organizations and European and Western countries, expressing the suffering of the community. She stated that the Turkish state aims to exterminate this community, which continues to struggle for its survival.
