#Incident:
In the villages of Marioud, Al-Mabtaneh, Abu Mansaf, Al-Zughba, Ma’an, Talaysiyah, and Al-Fan Al-Wastani, following the fall of the regime, armed groups looted homes and burned most of them. Anyone attempting to return to the area is killed, as was the case with the late Adnan Nasif from the village of Marioud, who was murdered when he returned to check on his home. His body was found dumped at the crossroads near the village of Jebrin.

When contacted, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) responded that the area is not under their control and that anyone entering these villages does so at their own risk.

On January 8, HTS brought in individuals claiming to be “Arabs of the State” and displaced persons from Raqqa, housing them in what remains of the unburned homes. This has raised pressing questions among the region’s residents: Are these individual incidents, or is this a systematic displacement targeting a specific sect?
